"Huni" is a Filipino or Cebuano word that means chirping or hooting of birds or fowls. It could also mean sound, tone, song, music, melody, or musical tune.
Exquisite sound and superb playability manifest in each of Huni's handcrafted ukuleles. Drawing or sketching is the very first step in achieving our goal in delivering a locally made yet world class instrument. These sketches are vital to make sure that our ukuleles are made in correct measures and proportions, before they are actually built. Our ukuleles are designed from inside out that they sound as good as they look. Our tradition of excellence is the foundation of CEBU's reputation in the business of making handcrafted musical instruments made from the finest tone woods in the country. Our Story Huni ukuleles is the brainchild of our Ukulele shop - UKeCEBU. With Huni, we aim to develop a local brand that would represent the rich culture and craftsmanship of the Cebuanos. We feel privileged to work along side with these skillful CEBUANO craftsmen. And we take responsibility in making sure that there skill sets will be passed on to the next generation of luthiers in the country. |
We Make Solid Bamboo Ukuleles Cause We CARE
With the current environmental challenges in the country, we can't go on with our business without the moral and social obligation to our natural resources. Why Bamboo? We choose bamboo because of its endless renew-ability as a resource, and it’s minimal effect on the environment. Bamboo aids in creating durable quality gift items, and is also a socially responsible choice. Now, we can focus on our craft without the guilt of destroying mother earth. As social entrepreneurs, we believe that giving back to our communities is as equally important as profits. We will allocate portion of our sales to grow more bamboos in the country and help our local bamboo farmers earn a living. Each Huni ukulele sold will also equivalent to a purchase of a Mahogany or Narra seed to be planted on our endangered forests. Be part of our cause. Buy one of our Bamboo ukuleles and help us SAVE OUR FORESTS! |
